Mircea Marosin was born in Bucharest in 1921.
He was a self-taught artist invited over to England in 1969 by the British Council to design sets for the epic 1969 film adaptation of the Royal Hunt of the Sun (an action packed historical drama of the Spanish conquest of Peru).
He was also famous for amazing theatrical set designs.
His work is rapidly becoming far better known since his death in 2007.
This painting is a real show stopper of vibrancy and colour with a Bowiesque look and feel to it and framed in a gold patinated frame.
It is a large painting in mixed media measuring 116 x 82cm.
